99 relating to Internet broadcasts of open meetings held by the board
1010 of directors of certain development corporations.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 551.128(b-1), Government Code, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (b-1) A transit authority or department subject to Chapter
1515 451, 452, 453, or 460, Transportation Code, an elected school
1616 district board of trustees for a school district that has a student
1717 enrollment of 10,000 or more, an elected governing body of a
1818 home-rule municipality that has a population of 50,000 or more, the
1919 board of directors of a corporation organized under Subtitle C1,
2020 Title 12, Local Government Code, that was authorized to be created
2121 by a home-rule municipality with a population of 50,000 or more, or
2222 a county commissioners court for a county that has a population of
2323 125,000 or more shall:
2424 (1) make a video and audio recording of reasonable
2525 quality of each regularly scheduled open meeting that is not a work
2626 session or a special called meeting; and
2727 (2) make available an archived copy of the video and
2828 audio recording of each meeting described by Subdivision (1) on the
2929 Internet.
3030 SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
3131 an open meeting held on or after the effective date of this Act.
3232 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
