| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | is amended by adding Section 504.668 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | Sec. 504.668. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS LICENSE PLATES. |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates that |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | include the image of the United States flag printed in black and |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | white with a blue stripe crossing beneath the field of stars and the |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | words "Blessed are the Peacemakers" at the bottom of each plate. |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | (b) After deduction of the department's administrative |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | shall be deposited to the credit of an account created by the |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | comptroller in the manner provided by Section 504.6012(b). Money |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | deposited to that account may be used only by the State Preservation |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | Board to maintain the Texas Peace Officers' Memorial Monument under |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | Section 3105.004, Government Code. |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
