| 12 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 521.121(a), Transportation Code, is |
|---|
| 14 | 8 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | (a) The driver's license must include: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | (1) a distinguishing number assigned by the department |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | to the license holder; |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | (2) a [color] photograph of the entire face of the |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | holder; |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | (3) the full name and date of birth of the holder; |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | (4) a brief description of the holder; and |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | (5) the license holder's residence address or, for a |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | license holder using the procedure under Subsection (c), the street |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | address of the courthouse in which the license holder or license |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | holder's spouse serves as a federal judge or state judge. |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | a driver's license issued or renewed on or after the effective date |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | of this Act. A driver's license issued or renewed before the |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when the |
|---|
| 30 | 24 | | license was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for |
|---|
| 31 | 25 | | that purpose. |

| 32 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
