The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure requiring local law enforcement on receiving a report of an attempted child abduction to provide, as soon as practicable, but no later than eight hours, a report to the clearinghouse. The bill would repeal Article 63.009(a-3), Code of Criminal Procedure. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the City of Austin no fiscal impact is anticipated from the provisions of the bill.
