| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 13 | 13 | is amended by adding Section 504.323 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 504.323. SUBMARINE VETERANS. The department shall | |
| 15 | 15 | issue specialty license plates for persons who served on a | |
| 16 | 16 | submarine while in the United States Navy. The license plates must | |
| 17 | 17 | include: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) the words "Submarine Veteran"; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) a depiction of the Submarine Warfare insignia. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
