| 14 | 8 | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 402, Occupations Code, is | |
| 15 | 9 | amended by adding Section 402.354 to read as follows: | |
| 16 | 10 | Sec. 402.354. CLIENT ACCESS TO RECORDS. A client of a | |
| 17 | 11 | person licensed to fit and dispense hearing instruments or of a | |
| 18 | 12 | hearing instrument fitting and dispensing practice is entitled to | |
| 19 | 13 | obtain a copy of the client's records that pertain to the testing | |
| 20 | 14 | for, and fitting and dispensing of, hearing instruments by making a | |
| 21 | 15 | signed, written request to the license holder or practice for the | |
| 22 | 16 | records. | |
| 23 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
