                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 21, 2017      TO: Honorable Roland Gutierrez, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1641 by Hefner (Relating to the issuance of specially marked driver's licenses and personal identification certificates to disabled veterans.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to expand the current veteran designation on a driver license or identification card to include a disabled veteran's designation for certain eligible veterans.  It is assumed the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current appropriations.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
