| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 21, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 21.417 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 21.417. CLASSROOM SUPPLY REIMBURSEMENT. A school |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | district shall reimburse each classroom teacher employed by the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | district up to $200 per school year for the cost of classroom |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | supplies purchased by the teacher with the teacher's personal money |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | for the benefit of the district's students. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 2. Section 21.414, Education Code, is repealed. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 3. This Act applies beginning with the 2017-2018 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | school year. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
