The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt certain information contained in a citation issued for violation of a state traffic law or local traffic ordinance from disclosure under public information law.According to information provided by the Office of the Attorney General, Office of Court Administration, and the Department of Public Safety, this analysis assumes that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing agency resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote of all members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
