                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 20, 2017      TO: Honorable Phil King, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1777 by Dale (Relating to certain authorizations or approvals issued by the Texas Private Security Board.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code to clarify that the consequences of a conviction for individuals in certain licensed occupations do not apply to a determination of whether the applicant is disqualified from owning or possessing a firearm. The bill would also amend the expiration period of a security officer commission for certain nonpermanent legal residents of the United States.  It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
