55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain
88 individuals who violate a condition of release on parole or to
99 mandatory supervision.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
1212 amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF
1414 SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency
1515 shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to
1616 the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the
1717 super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a
1818 condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the
1919 electronic monitoring of the releasee.
2020 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2121 to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date
2222 of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective
2323 date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the
2424 warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for
2525 that purpose.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
