9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to the repeal of certain laws regulating the sale or
126 transfer of secondhand watches.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 17, Business & Commerce
159 Code, is repealed.
1610 SECTION 2. An offense under Section 17.22, Business &
1711 Commerce Code, may not be prosecuted after the effective date of
1812 this Act. If on the effective date of this Act a criminal action is
1913 pending for an offense under Section 17.22, Business & Commerce
2014 Code, the action is dismissed on that date. However, a final
2115 conviction for an offense under Section 17.22, Business & Commerce
2216 Code, that exists on the effective date of this Act is unaffected by
2317 this Act.
2418 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2519 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2620 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2721 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2822 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
