10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 264, Family Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 264.208 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 264.208. NOTIFICATION OF ADOPTION TO CERTAIN ENTITIES. | |
14 | 14 | (a) In this section, "faith-based organization" has the meaning | |
15 | 15 | assigned by Section 264.113(a). | |
16 | 16 | (b) If the department has entered into a memorandum of | |
17 | 17 | understanding with a faith-based organization that authorizes the | |
18 | 18 | organization to share information about children in the | |
19 | 19 | department's conservatorship who are available for adoption, the | |
20 | 20 | department shall notify the faith-based organization when a child | |
21 | 21 | whose information has been shared with the organization is adopted. | |
22 | 22 | (c) The department shall provide the notice required by | |
23 | 23 | Subsection (b) not later than the end of the fifth business day | |
24 | 24 | after the date the adoption order is rendered. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
