| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 370, Transportation Code, | |
| 10 | 10 | is amended by adding Section 370.040 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 370.040. SUNSET REVIEW. (a) An authority is subject | |
| 12 | 12 | to review under Chapter 325, Government Code (Texas Sunset Act), as | |
| 13 | 13 | if it were a state agency but may not be abolished under that | |
| 14 | 14 | chapter. The review shall be conducted as if the authority were | |
| 15 | 15 | scheduled to be abolished September 1, 2019. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) The authority shall pay the cost incurred by the Sunset | |
| 17 | 17 | Advisory Commission in performing a review of the authority under | |
| 18 | 18 | this section. The Sunset Advisory Commission shall determine the | |
| 19 | 19 | cost, and the authority shall pay the amount promptly on receipt of | |
| 20 | 20 | a statement from the Sunset Advisory Commission detailing the cost. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
