The bill would amend the Election Code relating to the uniform election date.The Secretary of State assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Association of Counties, Webb County, Williamson County and Hunt County reported no significant fiscal impact. Hidalgo County reported there would be indeterminate costs associated with new voting machines, voting equipment, and personnel.According to Fort Bend County, the fiscal impact cannot be determined at this time.
