| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 76.101, Property Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 76.101. PROPERTY REPORT. (a) Each holder who on March |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1 [June 30] holds property subject to this chapter shall file a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | report of that property on or before the following July 1 [November |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 1]. Each report shall be filed with the treasurer of the holder as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | provided by this section and on forms prescribed by the treasurer of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the holder. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) A holder required by Subsection (a) to file a report |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | shall file a report each successive year regardless of whether the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | holder has any reportable property on March 1 [June 30] of the year |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in which the report is filed. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. Section 76.301(a), Property Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (a) Each holder who on March 1 [June 30] holds property that |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | is subject to this chapter shall deliver the property to the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | treasurer of the holder on or before the following July 1 [November |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 1] accompanied by the property report. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
