| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2308.2085, Occupations Code, is amended | |
| 10 | 10 | by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (d) to read as | |
| 11 | 11 | follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b) Subject to Subsection (d), a [A] municipality may | |
| 13 | 13 | regulate the fees that may be charged in connection with the booting | |
| 14 | 14 | of a vehicle, including associated parking fees. | |
| 15 | 15 | (d) The fee that may be charged for the removal of a boot may | |
| 16 | 16 | not exceed the maximum fee established by commission rule. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. Section 2308.257, Occupations Code, is amended | |
| 18 | 18 | by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 19 | 19 | (b-1) No more than one boot may be installed on a vehicle at | |
| 20 | 20 | any time. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
