| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 392.067, Local Government | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 392.067. VETERANS HOUSING [IN CERTAIN COUNTIES]. | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 2. Sections 392.067(b) and (d), Local Government | |
| 14 | 14 | Code, are amended to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (b) A county or municipal housing authority [in a county | |
| 16 | 16 | with a population of more than 500,000] may borrow money, accept | |
| 17 | 17 | grants, and exercise its powers to provide safe and sanitary | |
| 18 | 18 | housing communities for veterans. | |
| 19 | 19 | (d) A county or municipal housing authority to which this | |
| 20 | 20 | section applies is not subject to the limitations in Section | |
| 21 | 21 | 392.014, 392.015, or 392.017 with respect to a housing project that | |
| 22 | 22 | primarily benefits veterans as authorized by this section. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
