| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 22, Business Organizations |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Code, is amended by adding Section 22.236 to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 22.236. INTERNET BROADCAST AND ARCHIVE OF BOARD |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | MEETINGS OF CERTAIN CORPORATIONS. (a) This section applies only to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | a corporation whose purpose is to foster economic growth and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | revitalization, provide economic development services, or develop |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | affordable housing in a defined neighborhood or for a targeted |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | population. The corporation may be known as a "community |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | development corporation." |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) In a manner that would comply with Section 551.128(c), |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Government Code, if the board of directors were a governmental body |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to which that section applies, a corporation shall broadcast over |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the Internet live video and audio of each meeting held by the board |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of directors of the corporation. Subsequently, the corporation |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | shall make available through the corporation's Internet website |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | archived video and audio for each meeting for which live video and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | audio was provided under this section. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a meeting held on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
