A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to an audit by the comptroller of unpaid oil and gas
royalties held in trust by the Railroad Commission of Texas.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. (a) The comptroller shall conduct an audit of
any unpaid oil or gas royalties held in trust by the Railroad
Commission of Texas.
(b) Not later than January 1, 2019, the comptroller shall
submit to the legislature a report containing the findings of the
audit conducted under this section. For each unpaid non-claimant,
the report must state the name of the payee and the county in which
the land from which the oil or gas was produced is located.
SECTION 2. This Act expires January 2, 2019.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
