8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 1053.155(b)(1), Occupations Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 1053.155. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO EXAMINATION. | |
12 | 12 | (a) An applicant for a certificate of registration must apply to | |
13 | 13 | the board, on a form prescribed by the board, for admission to the | |
14 | 14 | registration examination. | |
15 | 15 | (b) An application for admission to the registration | |
16 | 16 | examination must be accompanied by evidence satisfactory to the | |
17 | 17 | board that the applicant: | |
18 | 18 | (1) has satisfied the educational and experience | |
19 | 19 | eligibility requirements for taking the examination of the National | |
20 | 20 | Council for Interior Design Qualification or a comparable | |
21 | 21 | examination. graduated from an interior design educational program | |
22 | 22 | recognized and approved by the board; and | |
23 | 23 | (2) has professional experience in the field of | |
24 | 24 | interior design. | |
25 | 25 | (c) The board shall adopt rules establishing standards for: | |
26 | 26 | (1) the recognition and approval of interior design | |
27 | 27 | educational programs; and | |
28 | 28 | (2) the amounts and types of professional experience | |
29 | 29 | necessary for registration examination eligibility. | |
30 | 30 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
