| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 42.006, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (a-2) The commissioner by rule shall require each school |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | district and open-enrollment charter school to report through the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Public Education Information Management System information for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | each campus of the district or school regarding: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) the availability of expanded learning |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | opportunities as described by Section 33.252; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) the number of students participating in each of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the categories of expanded learning opportunities listed under |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Section 33.252(b). |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
