8 | 8 | school district and reimbursement under Medicaid for certain | |

10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Sections 38.034 and 38.035 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 38.034. ON-CAMPUS MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. A district | |
14 | 14 | may contract with a local mental health authority to provide mental | |
15 | 15 | health services on a campus of the district. | |
16 | 16 | Sec. 38.035. REIMBURSEMENT UNDER MEDICAID. The Health and | |
17 | 17 | Human Services Commission shall allow a district to enroll as a | |
18 | 18 | provider under the medical assistance program under Chapter 32, | |
19 | 19 | Human Resources Code, to provide and receive reimbursement for the | |
20 | 20 | provision of mental health services to district students who are | |
21 | 21 | medical assistance recipients. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
