115 relating to combined municipal sales tax ballot propositions.
126 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
137 SECTION 1. Section 321.409(a), Tax Code, is amended to read
148 as follows:
159 (a) Notwithstanding any provisions of this code or other
1610 state law, a municipality may by a combined ballot proposition
1711 lower or repeal any [dedicated or special purpose] municipal sales
1812 tax, including the additional sales tax for property tax relief,
1913 and by the same proposition raise or adopt any other [dedicated or
2014 special purpose] municipal sales tax, including the additional
2115 sales tax for property tax relief.
2216 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2317 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2418 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2519 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2620 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
