8 | 8 | | in the breast and cervical cancer services program, the family |
---|
9 | 9 | | planning program, and the Texas women's health program. |

10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 531, Government Code, is |
---|
12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 531.02222 to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 13 | | Sec. 531.02222. REPORT ON PROVIDERS PARTICIPATING IN |
---|
14 | 14 | | WOMEN'S HEALTH PROGRAMS. (a) In this section: |
---|
15 | 15 | | (1) "Breast and cervical cancer services program" |
---|
16 | 16 | | means a program operated by the commission that provides screening, |
---|
17 | 17 | | diagnostic, and other services related to breast and cervical |
---|
18 | 18 | | cancer to women in this state. |
---|
19 | 19 | | (2) "Family planning program" means a program operated |
---|
20 | 20 | | by the commission that provides health care and core family |
---|
21 | 21 | | planning services to individuals in this state. |
---|
22 | 22 | | (3) "Texas women's health program" means a program |
---|
23 | 23 | | operated by the commission that is substantially similar to the |
---|
24 | 24 | | demonstration project operated under former Section 32.0248, Human |
---|
25 | 25 | | Resources Code, and that is intended to expand access to preventive |
---|
26 | 26 | | health and family planning services for women in this state. |
---|
27 | 27 | | (b) Not later than December 31 of each even-numbered year, |
---|
28 | 28 | | the commission shall prepare and submit a report to the legislature |
---|
29 | 29 | | on the registered provider locations participating in the breast |
---|
30 | 30 | | and cervical cancer services program, the family planning program, |
---|
31 | 31 | | and the Texas women's health program. The report must: |
---|
32 | 32 | | (1) cover the period beginning June 1 occurring three |
---|
33 | 33 | | years preceding the year in which the report is due and ending May |
---|
34 | 34 | | 31 occurring the year before the year in which the report is due; |
---|
35 | 35 | | and |
---|
36 | 36 | | (2) include, for each registered provider location |
---|
37 | 37 | | during the period covered by the report: |
---|
38 | 38 | | (A) the number of physicians participating in |
---|
39 | 39 | | each program at that location; |
---|
40 | 40 | | (B) the number of individuals seen by each |
---|
41 | 41 | | physician participating in a program at that location and the |
---|
42 | 42 | | program in which the individuals were treated; and |
---|
43 | 43 | | (C) the number of times a specific individual was |
---|
44 | 44 | | treated at that location by a participating physician in each |
---|
45 | 45 | | program. |
---|
46 | 46 | | (c) If the breast and cervical cancer services program, the |
---|
47 | 47 | | family planning program, or the Texas women's health program is |
---|
48 | 48 | | consolidated with another program or otherwise modified, the |
---|
49 | 49 | | commission shall include in the report under Subsection (b) the |
---|
50 | 50 | | required information for each successor program that provides the |
---|
51 | 51 | | same or similar services. |
---|
52 | 52 | | (d) The information provided under Subsection (b) may not |
---|
53 | 53 | | include any personally identifying information about an |
---|
54 | 54 | | individual. |
---|
55 | 55 | | SECTION 2. Not later than December 31, 2018, the Health and |
---|
56 | 56 | | Human Services Commission shall provide to the legislature the |
---|
57 | 57 | | initial report for the period of June 1, 2016, through May 31, 2017, |
---|
58 | 58 | | as required by Section 531.02222, Government Code, as added by this |
---|
59 | 59 | | Act, notwithstanding Section 531.02222(b)(1), Government Code, as |
---|
60 | 60 | | added by this Act. |
---|
61 | 61 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
