9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 1701.267 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 1701.267. TRAINING PROGRAM RELATING TO PRIVATE | |
13 | 13 | SECURITY. The commission shall establish and maintain a training | |
14 | 14 | program for peace officers on enforcing Chapter 1702, including | |
15 | 15 | training on enforcing the provisions of that chapter that apply to | |
16 | 16 | an alarm systems company, armored car company, courier company, | |
17 | 17 | guard company, guard dog company, locksmith company, | |
18 | 18 | investigations company, and private security consulting company. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2017, the Texas | |
20 | 20 | Commission on Law Enforcement shall approve the curriculum for the | |
21 | 21 | training program described by Section 1701.267, Occupations Code, | |
22 | 22 | as added by this Act. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
