9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1702.124, Occupations Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as | |
12 | 12 | follows: | |
13 | 13 | (c) Except as provided by Subsection (c-1), the [The] | |
14 | 14 | insurance policy must contain minimum limits of: | |
15 | 15 | (1) $100,000 for each occurrence for bodily injury and | |
16 | 16 | property damage; | |
17 | 17 | (2) $50,000 for each occurrence for personal injury; | |
18 | 18 | and | |
19 | 19 | (3) a total aggregate amount of $200,000 for all | |
20 | 20 | occurrences. | |
21 | 21 | (c-1) If the application is for a license to act as a guard | |
22 | 22 | company, the insurance policy must contain minimum limits of: | |
23 | 23 | (1) $1 million for each occurrence for bodily injury | |
24 | 24 | and property damage; | |
25 | 25 | (2) $1 million for each occurrence for personal | |
26 | 26 | injury; and | |
27 | 27 | (3) a total aggregate amount of $2 million for all | |
28 | 28 | occurrences. | |
29 | 29 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
30 | 30 | to an applicant for or holder of a license under Chapter 1702, | |
31 | 31 | Occupations Code, on or after January 1, 2018. | |
32 | 32 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
