9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1301, Occupations Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 1301.059 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 1301.059. PLUMBING BY PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANIES ON | |
13 | 13 | CERTAIN PRIVATE PROPERTY. A person is not required to be licensed | |
14 | 14 | under this chapter to perform plumbing work on behalf of a public | |
15 | 15 | service company if the person is a public service company or a | |
16 | 16 | contractor of a public service company who performs plumbing, | |
17 | 17 | including the installation, service, or repair of service mains, | |
18 | 18 | service lines, appurtenances, equipment, or appliances that | |
19 | 19 | provide water, sewer, storm drainage, or gas services, on private | |
20 | 20 | property in an area that extends from a public easement to not less | |
21 | 21 | than five feet from a building or structure. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
