| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 201.996, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (d) In establishing a formula for allocating funds for | |
| 14 | 14 | congestion mitigation and air quality improvement projects under | |
| 15 | 15 | Subsection (a)(4), the department shall prioritize funding for | |
| 16 | 16 | public transportation in regions with political subdivisions that: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) contain or are in proximity to a United States | |
| 18 | 18 | military installation; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) are disproportionately affected by the granting of | |
| 20 | 20 | ad valorem tax relief to disabled veterans. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
