| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 21.003(a), Transportation Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (a) The aviation advisory committee consists of [six] | |
| 12 | 12 | members appointed by the commission to advise the commission and | |
| 13 | 13 | the department on aviation matters. The commission by rule shall | |
| 14 | 14 | determine the number of members of the committee, provided that the | |
| 15 | 15 | committee must be composed of at least six members. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Not later than September 1, 2018, the Texas | |
| 17 | 17 | Transportation Commission shall adopt the rules required by Section | |
| 18 | 18 | 21.003(a), Transportation Code, as amended by this Act. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
