| 13 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 302.014(a), Labor Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (a) The commission shall provide the Texas Education Agency |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with information at least each quarter, disaggregated by county or |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | other appropriate region, regarding: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) current and projected employment opportunities in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | this state; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) career and technical education partnership |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | opportunities with business and industry; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (3) professional development opportunities for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | teachers and learning opportunities for students through industry |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | mentorships, internships, summer programs, after-school programs, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and career-based student leadership opportunities [, disaggregated |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | by county or other appropriate region]. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
