99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the requirement that the Texas Workforce Commission
1111 provide certain employment information for secondary school
1212 students.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 302.014(a), Labor Code, is amended to
1515 read as follows:
1616 (a) The commission shall provide the Texas Education Agency
1717 with information at least each quarter, disaggregated by county or
1818 other appropriate region, regarding:
1919 (1) current and projected employment opportunities in
2020 this state;
2121 (2) career and technical education partnership
2222 opportunities with business and industry; and
2323 (3) professional development opportunities for
2424 teachers and learning opportunities for students through industry
2525 mentorships, internships, summer programs, after-school programs,
2626 and career-based student leadership opportunities [, disaggregated
2727 by county or other appropriate region].
2828 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
