| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2308.1551, Occupations Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | repealed. | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 2. On the effective date of this Act, a license | |
| 12 | 12 | issued under a law that is repealed by this Act expires. | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 3. (a) The change in law made by this Act does not | |
| 14 | 14 | affect the validity of a proceeding pending before a court or other | |
| 15 | 15 | governmental entity on the effective date of this Act. | |
| 16 | 16 | (b) An offense or other violation of law committed before | |
| 17 | 17 | the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when | |
| 18 | 18 | the offense or violation was committed, and the former law is | |
| 19 | 19 | continued in effect for that purpose. For purposes of this | |
| 20 | 20 | subsection, an offense or violation was committed before the | |
| 21 | 21 | effective date of this Act if any element of the offense or | |
| 22 | 22 | violation occurred before that date. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
