| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended by adding Section 504.669 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 504.669. SUPPORT EDUCATION LICENSE PLATES. (a) The | |
| 13 | 13 | department shall issue specialty license plates that include the | |
| 14 | 14 | words "Support Education" at the bottom of each plate. | |
| 15 | 15 | (b) Notwithstanding Section 504.6012(b), after deduction of | |
| 16 | 16 | the department's administrative costs, the remainder of the fee for | |
| 17 | 17 | issuance of the license plates shall be deposited to the credit of | |
| 18 | 18 | the permanent school fund. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
