A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to reimbursement of costs incurred by political
subdivisions for emergency services provided on toll projects
operated by private entities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 372, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 372.054 to read as follows:
Sec. 372.054. PRIVATE OPERATOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMERGENCY
SERVICES PROVIDED BY POLITICAL SUBDIVISION. A private entity
operating a toll project under a contract with a toll project entity
shall reimburse a political subdivision for costs incurred by the
political subdivision in providing police, fire, or emergency
medical services on the toll project.
SECTION 2. Section 372.054, Transportation Code, as added
by this Act, applies only to expenses incurred for emergency
services provided on or after the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
