| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 16.012, Water Code, is amended by adding | |
| 12 | 12 | Subsection (h-1) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (h-1) Not later than December 1, 2020, the commission shall | |
| 14 | 14 | obtain or develop updated water availability models for the all of | |
| 15 | 15 | the river basins in this state. The commission may collect data | |
| 16 | 16 | from all of the jurisdictions that allocate the waters of the rivers | |
| 17 | 17 | in this state, including jurisdictions outside this state. This | |
| 18 | 18 | subsection expires September 1, 2021. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
