8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 209.00591, Property Code, is amended by | |
10 | 10 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (d) A person is ineligible to serve on a property owners' | |
12 | 12 | association board if that person cohabits at the same primary | |
13 | 13 | residence as another person serving on the board. | |
14 | 14 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
15 | 15 | a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as | |
16 | 16 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
17 | 17 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
18 | 18 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
