                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 1, 2017      TO: Honorable Carol Alvarado, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB405 by Villalba (Relating to municipal reimbursement of compensation paid by the Texas Department of Transportation for the removal of certain signs due to road construction.), As Introduced    The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time. The Texas Department of Transportation would have an indeterminate positive fiscal impact from the bill.   The bill would amend the Local Government Code requiring municipalities to reimburse the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for removal of certain signs due to road constructions. According to TxDOT the bill could lower the cost for land acquisition but the fiscal impact cannot be determined.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Municipal League, municipalities would experience an indeterminate negative fiscal impact.
