| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Article 42.014(b), Code of Criminal Procedure, | |
| 11 | 11 | is amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b) Except as otherwise provided by this subsection, the | |
| 13 | 13 | [The] sentencing judge may, as a condition of punishment, require | |
| 14 | 14 | attendance in an educational program to further tolerance and | |
| 15 | 15 | acceptance of others. If an offense under Section 28.03 or 28.08, | |
| 16 | 16 | Penal Code, occurred on the grounds of a school district, the | |
| 17 | 17 | sentencing judge shall, as a condition of punishment, require | |
| 18 | 18 | attendance in an educational program to further tolerance and | |
| 19 | 19 | acceptance of others. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
