| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 11.164, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b-1) Not less than once every six months, each campus-level | |
| 13 | 13 | committee established under Section 11.253 shall review paperwork | |
| 14 | 14 | requirements imposed on classroom teachers and shall make | |
| 15 | 15 | recommendations to the board of trustees of the school district | |
| 16 | 16 | regarding the transfer to existing noninstructional staff of a | |
| 17 | 17 | reporting task that can reasonably be accomplished by that staff as | |
| 18 | 18 | authorized by Subsection (b). | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
