| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2303.155(d), Occupations Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (d) For purposes of imposing a daily storage fee, a day is | |
| 12 | 12 | considered to begin 24 hours from the time that the vehicle is towed | |
| 13 | 13 | to a vehicle storage facility [at midnight and to end at the next | |
| 14 | 14 | following midnight] until the same time the next following day. A | |
| 15 | 15 | daily storage fee may [be charged regardless of whether the vehicle | |
| 16 | 16 | is stored for 24 hours of the day, except that a daily storage fee | |
| 17 | 17 | may not be charged for more than one day] if the vehicle remains at | |
| 18 | 18 | the facility for less than 24 [12] hours. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. Section 2303.155(d), Occupations Code, as | |
| 20 | 20 | amended by this Act, applies only to a vehicle that is towed to a | |
| 21 | 21 | vehicle storage facility on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
