| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 619.004, Government Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 619.004. PUBLIC EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES. A public | |
| 13 | 13 | employer shall: | |
| 14 | 14 | (1) provide a reasonable amount of break time for an | |
| 15 | 15 | employee to express breast milk each time the employee has need to | |
| 16 | 16 | express the milk; and | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) provide a place, other than a [multiple user] | |
| 18 | 18 | bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from | |
| 19 | 19 | other employees and the public where the employee can express | |
| 20 | 20 | breast milk. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
