| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 541.060, Insurance Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (c) This section applies to a claim by an insured or | |
| 13 | 13 | beneficiary under an insurance policy for workers' compensation | |
| 14 | 14 | insurance. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 16 | 16 | to a cause of action that accrues on or after the effective date of | |
| 17 | 17 | this Act. A cause of action that accrues before the effective date | |
| 18 | 18 | of this Act is governed by the law in effect immediately before that | |
| 19 | 19 | date, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
