| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 1001, Education Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended by adding Section 1001.109 to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | Sec. 1001.109. INFORMATION RELATING TO TRAFFIC STOPS. The | |
| 12 | 12 | commission by rule shall require that one hour of instruction | |
| 13 | 13 | relating to law enforcement procedures for traffic stops be | |
| 14 | 14 | included in the curriculum of each driver education course. The | |
| 15 | 15 | curriculum must include information regarding appropriate | |
| 16 | 16 | interactions with law enforcement. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
