                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 17, 2017      TO: Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB61 by Guillen (Relating to consideration under the public school accountability system of performance on assessment instruments by certain students formerly receiving special education services.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill's provisions would add the academic performance of students formerly receiving special education services to Accountability Domain IV for elementary and middle and junior high school campuses. The bill also adds the academic performance of students formerly receiving special education services to the postsecondary readiness distinction designation.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017, or immediately if passed with the necessary voting margins, and would apply beginning with school year 2017-18.
