8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 372.101, Transportation Code, is amended | |
10 | 10 | to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | Sec. 372.101. APPLICABILITY. This subchapter does not | |
12 | 12 | apply to a county acting under Chapter 284, except that Sections | |
13 | 13 | 372.103 and 372.104 do apply to a county acting under Chapter 284. | |
14 | 14 | SECTION 2. Section 372.103, Transportation Code, is amended | |
15 | 15 | to read as follows: | |
16 | 16 | Sec. 372.103. TOLL VIOLATION PAYMENT PLAN AND PARTIAL | |
17 | 17 | PAYMENTS. (a) A toll project entity may enter into an agreement | |
18 | 18 | with the registered owner of a vehicle, for whom a single payment is | |
19 | 19 | not feasible, that allows the person to pay the total amount of | |
20 | 20 | outstanding tolls, [and] administrative fees, or both tolls and | |
21 | 21 | administrative fees over a specified period. The agreement must be | |
22 | 22 | in writing and specify the amount due under the agreement [for tolls | |
23 | 23 | and administrative fees], the duration of the agreement, and the | |
24 | 24 | amount of each payment. | |
25 | 25 | (b) A toll project entity that accepts payment for tolls and | |
26 | 26 | administrative fees on an Internet website must allow a user to pay | |
27 | 27 | a portion of the total amount due. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
