55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to fee waivers for certain hunting and fishing licenses
88 for game wardens.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 42.012(b), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (b) The commission may set a lower fee or waive the fee or
1313 license requirement for a resident who is under 17 years old, 65
1414 years old or older, or participating in an event that is sponsored
1515 or cosponsored [co-sponsored] by the [Texas] Parks and Wildlife
1616 Department with the approval of the executive director. The
1717 commission shall waive the fee for:
1818 (1) a qualified disabled veteran;
1919 (2) [and for] a resident on active duty as a member of
2020 the United States military forces, the Texas Army National Guard,
2121 the Texas Air National Guard, or the Texas State Guard; and
2222 (3) a deputy game warden or a special game warden on
2323 active status.
2424 SECTION 2. Section 46.004(c), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
2525 amended to read as follows:
2626 (c) The commission shall waive the fee for:
2727 (1) a qualified disabled veteran as defined by Section
2828 42.012;
2929 (2) [and for] a resident on active duty as a member of
3030 the United States military forces, the Texas Army National Guard,
3131 the Texas Air National Guard, or the Texas State Guard; and
3232 (3) a deputy game warden or a special game warden on
3333 active status.
3434 SECTION 3. Section 50.002, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
3535 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
3636 (c) The commission shall waive the fee for an annual
3737 combination resident hunting and fishing license for a deputy game
3838 warden or a special game warden on active status.
3939 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
