| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 461.009, Transportation | |
| 12 | 12 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 461.009. [ELIGIBILITY OF VISITORS TO USE CERTAIN] | |
| 14 | 14 | PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. Section 461.009, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 16 | 16 | by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
| 17 | 17 | (c) A provider shall notify each individual who resides in | |
| 18 | 18 | the provider's service area and is eligible to use the provider's | |
| 19 | 19 | services of the individual's rights under 49 C.F.R. Section 37.127. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
