55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to funding for career and technology programs in public
88 schools.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 42.154(a), Education Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (a) For each full-time equivalent student in average daily
1313 attendance in an approved career and technology education program
1414 in grades nine through 12 or in career and technology education
1515 programs for students with disabilities in grades seven through 12,
1616 a district is entitled to:
1717 (1) an annual allotment equal to the adjusted basic
1818 allotment multiplied by a weight of 1.60 [1.35]; and
1919 (2) $50, if the student is enrolled in:
2020 (A) two or more advanced career and technology
2121 education classes for a total of three or more credits; or
2222 (B) an advanced course as part of a tech-prep
2323 program under Subchapter T, Chapter 61.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
