66 AN ACT
77 relating to daylight saving time.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 312.016, Government Code, is amended by
1010 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1111 (d) The state, acting under the exemption provisions of the
1212 Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S.C. Section 260a(a)), is exempt from
1313 the provisions of that law that establish daylight saving time. The
1414 exemption provided by this subsection applies to both the portion
1515 of the state using central standard time as the official standard
1616 time and the portion of the state using mountain standard time as
1717 the official standard time.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect November 5, 2017, to
1919 coincide with the end of daylight saving time for 2017.
