| 14 | 8 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 15 | 9 | is amended by adding Section 504.416 to read as follows: | |
| 16 | 10 | Sec. 504.416. STAR OF TEXAS AWARD RECIPIENTS. The | |
| 17 | 11 | department shall issue specialty license plates for persons who are | |
| 18 | 12 | recipients of a Star of Texas Award under Chapter 3106, Government | |
| 19 | 13 | Code. The license plates must include the Star of Texas Award | |
| 20 | 14 | emblem and the words "Star of Texas." | |
| 21 | 15 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
